We currently have an opening for a full-time Linguistic Lead in our San Jose office:

Title: Linguistic Lead – Chinese (In-House)

Type: Full Time

Location: San Jose, CA

Start Date: Immediate

Job Responsibilities:

  • Is the Linguistic Division Lead

    • Chinese Division

  • Is responsible for the quality of the assigned translation project deliverables to client

    • Linguistic transfers between source and target language

    • Reference adherence (glossary, style guide, and other client instructions)

    • On-time delivery

  • Optimizes Q&A for clients, using best judgment, to limit quality non-compliance subsequent rework

  • Reaches productivity objectives

  • Actively supports the Operations Director to build, optimize, and train linguistic teams

  • Coaches linguistic resources for Chinese

  • Contributes to the quality tracking for employees/vendors:

    • Grading

    • Feedback

  • Escalates issues to the Operations Director, the Vendor Manager, and the Quality Department as necessary

  • Studies and acts upon quality feedback to constantly improve performance

  • Suggests and helps enforce corrective actions

  • Escalates issues to the Operations Director, the Vendor Manager, and the Quality Department as necessary

  • Documents processes and policies

  • Contributes to updating project templates and general instructions

  • Miscellaneous:

    • Support to other departments testing new tools/processes

    • Other tasks requiring linguists (translation, testing, SEO, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Experience in localization (1+ year)

  • Proficient in Mandarin Chinese with skills and fluency equivalent to the level of a contemporary mainland China native speaker

  • In-region (mainland China) experience; familiarity with today’s Chinese language and culture

  • Professional proficiency in English

  • Effective working in a team

  • Experienced and comfortable using computers and mobile devices

  • Able to commute to our San Jose office
